After graduation at Math and Physic Faculty of Charles University, field econometrics, I passed two-months course of economy at CERGE UK. Professors of American universities led all the economic subjects.
After the course I joined NEWTON company as an Analyst. My regular working duty was creating of weekly capital markets reports and developing math - insurance model of pension funds. I developed the automatic system generating buy-sell signals based on the method of technical analysis with auto correction logic depending on market situation. After a year I decided to experience other firm sphere and I accepted a job offered by EB Brokers.
EB Brokers was a typical middle-size brokers company with membership in Prague Stock Exchange. It had approx. 30 employees and co-operated with tens of licensed security traders. I worked as a Financial Analyst. I created fundamental analysis of listed companies and co-managed share portfolios. After a year I left the company.
I joined Tabák, company majority owned by Philip Morris Inc., as a Costing Analyst. My work was based on setting communication between the Costing and Information Support departments as economists and IT specialists speak in quite different and reciprocally inapprehensible professional slang. After short time my former chief accosted me and offered me the position of Financial Director. I accepted the offer.
As the Financial Director of NEWTON Financial Management Group I managed the liquidity and cash flow of the company including trading on financial markets. Daily turnover of these operations was in hundred millions Czech Crowns. For a client, pension fund, I created strategy of portfolio managing and than I realised the strategy by managing of bond portfolio. In 1997 NEWTON took over a small investment company, which I started to take care about.
At time I became a Chief Executive Officer, the company Newton Investment had less than CZK 3 million under management and one employee. When I was leaving the company it was middle size and respectable company with CZK 1.3 billion under management and 10 employees, expected profit before taxation in CZK 6-7 million. The funds managed by the company were frequently placed on the first ranks in performance in the Czech Republic. The company passed successfully the transformation from limited company to stock company as well as re-licence processes caused by the change of the law and inspected by Security Commission.
Besides my daily managerial work I worked on some inter-company projects of NEWTON Group. Probably the most successful one was the take-over of pension fund Všeobecný vzájemný penzijní fond for a client. I led the team which evaluated financial and marketing strategy, internal structure and made due diligence. We set up the condition and price of the take-over and won the competition from among 17 offers of Czech and international financial institutions.
I left the company and NEWTON Group in 1999 because my view on the management style and strategic goals was different from the owner's one.
In the years 2000 - 2001 I worked for a French bank Société Générale as a Senior Analyst. I made analysis of client's credibility as well as analysis of client's needs of banking products. I was a member of the due diligence team focused on Komerční banka; my duties in due dilligence team were focused on credit process, client's evaluation and recovery process of bad clients.
Currently I work for CZECH TELECOM as a Project Manager. I work on establishing the Corporate Project Office that will support and control all projects and project managers within the company. This activity is project driven. Other duties are consultancy for main and strategic projects in the CZECH TELECOM. I work on developing and creating Practices for example rules for Revenue Sharing and Transfer Charging within the company.
I have very good computer skills on user level. I can work with all products of MS Office Pro software pack including creating macros and functions. I used MS Project for creating and supervising of all business plan projects. I am an Internet fan.
My mother tongue is Czech and I have no problem with communication in Slovak. I speak English. I can speak Russian and understand Polish.
Among all the courses I passed I would like to highlight the course of International Accounting Standards given by agency VOX and led by professors of Prague Economic University. From others the most useful was three days training of Synectica aimed at modern procedures of team cooperation and communication skills.
During 2000 - 2001 I passed post-graduate course of Financial and Managerial Accounting focused on practical usage of accounting for controlling and managing. My thesis was focused on differences between IAS and Czech Accounting Standards.
My eminencies are strong logical and analytical skills, ability to make quick decision and ability to lead and motivate teams.
